An Inspiring Thought...

i found this on Pinterest today and felt inspired to write about it! 

i have never taken the time to watch all of Audrey Hepburn's movies, but these quotes are supposedly taken from some of them and her words as well. i think we could have been friends if we knew each other! i would like to be a bigger fan of hers than i am - just because i think she's pretty awesome! 

So, i figured the best way to tackle this post was to put my own spin on all her "beliefs". 

• i believe in manicures - yes, i do! i love painting my nails! Both fingers and toes. i've also been told i'm pretty good at it! =) i don't believe in having to spend money on such a thing, but as long as you have some fabulous colors and a steady hand (or a sister/friend/momma with one) you are good to go!
• i believe in overdressing - something my hubby wishes i didn't believe in. If there is a reason to dress up i'm all over it! i love showing my "girly" side through my clothes and outfits! When i worked at the preschool i was constantly told i was overdressing...but who wants to wear sweats and crappy clothes all the time? Not me! I am proud of my wardrobe and i like to show it off, thank you! I will also keep this philosophy when my babies come...no need to lose pride in yourself just because you have a mini-you around. Show those babies how proud you are of yourself and how proud they should be of themselves - and you for that matter!
• i believe in primping in leisure and wearing lipstick - not quite sure what this one means? i think it means primping no matter what (kinda like what i said above) and wearing lipstick! Well, i don't wear lipstick all the time but my lips are never bare. Whether it's chap-stick  lip gloss, or some fancy lipstick - it is a must! 
• i believe in Pink!!! - Amen! i love pink! Absolutely love it! If it's pink i'm in love! You should have seen me in high school....everything pink! i wore pink clothes, pink shoes, pink make-up. Even all my school stuff was pink! i am still quite obsessed with the color. My wedding was pink (shocker) and i can't wait to have a baby girl and get her obsessed with pink as well!
• i believe that laughing is the best calorie burner - of course it is! The other thing in life i may be obsessed with is laughter! i was known for laughing all the time when i was little. Even when it wasn't so appropriate! Laughing is the best medicine and if i can laugh at myself i try to do so. Shows that make me laugh, movies, or even people (one of my besties is the greatest at this) is what i love to be around! 
• i believe in kissing, kissing a lot - i think that kisses are the best way to show that you love someone. i once read a quote that said, "A kiss: a secret told to the lips instead of the ear." i thought that it pretty much summed it up! i know that i'm not a super affectionate person, but when it comes to kisses, my hubby get lots of them!
• i believe in being strong when everything else seems to be going wrong - i think i'm a pretty tough person. Maybe not physically, but mentally i am. i have really become even stronger over the last couple years. i know that God is my rock and He has my back! i know that being strong is a gift and giving up or breaking down in hard times is just going to make everything worse! 
• i believe happiest girls are the prettiest girls - i am a firm believer that personality is everything when it comes to beauty. If you're grumpy you aren't attractive. If you are pessimistic you just aren't pretty. I feel like out emotions and personality are shown through ourselves. If we aren't happy about ourselves it shows - all over!
• i believe tomorrow is another day - i just simply can't help the fact that i want to break out in singing, "Tomorrow" from Annie. i do believe that each new day is brand new! Don't worry about what happened today, or yesterday....it is okay! Try harder tomorrow and you will do better! Each day is brand new, all God's gifts are new every day and it will be a brighter, sun-shiner day just because it's a whole new day!
• i believe in miracles - yes i do! i believe that little miracles happen around us constantly! i believe in a God that intervenes in our lives at every moment and constantly present! i also believe in big miracles - the ones that people are afraid to believe in because they can't wrap their minds around them...yes those! i do believe! 

i just can't help but want to go and watch an Audrey Hepburn movie now! i feel so empowered!
