Getting Motivated

I'm calling this "Motivational Monday".

I have decided that I need to get back on track when it comes to diet and exercise. I let myself fall of the bandwagon awhile ago. I was doing so well when it came to eating healthy, tracking my calories, and exercising. I was even running everyday - a complete surprise for anyone who knows me and how I feel about running.

I can't blame it on anything, but one of the biggest reasons I wasn't being as healthy was the new job. I am loving my new work and everyone I get to hang out with all day. This makes it hard to say no to eating out and Starbucks runs - which we all know is high in calories! Oh my!

Well, the other evening I found myself trying to convince a bestie that diet is everything! She is in the same spot I was a few years back - working out often but not seeing any results. It wasn't until I really watched what I ate that I saw results. I decided to take my own advice to open-up my dusty-old iPhone app "myFitnessPal" and log my entire food intake for that day - oh.my.word...I was overeating! I decided that it was the end of eating whatever I wanted and I jumped back on the bandwagon!

It's only been over the weekend but I"m happy to say that I ate healthy and went running twice - and usually weekends are my cheat days (or at least the days that I don't worry too much about calories and exercise). I feel great! I know that it's only been a few days, but I really do feel more energized and good about everything! I'm looking forward to walking tonight and running tomorrow. I decided to start easy and interchange walking and running throughout the week. I'm hoping to work back up to 2 miles. The heat is not my friend these days...it makes it real difficult to run when it's almost 100degrees outsides. Being able to have a friend with me always helps and I have a buddy for both - walking and running!

My picAday is a catch up from the weekend. It all started with golfing on Friday. Here's my fab hubby - he's an awesome teacher and I've learned everything I know so far from him!
On Saturday, I got to catch up with a bestie!!! We did a little shopping, ate some yummy food, and watched the new Pixar movie, "Brave". Here we are at the famous "Lucille's BBQ". It is some awesome food! Don't judge my calorie intake on this meal - we split it and bagged most of it to go!
My real picAday was a frustrating moment for me today. I was so excited to eat lunch with a bestie that I haven't seen in forever...when I left the restaurant my mood changed...I was on my way back to work when I got stuck in the parking lot due to this genius! It was so annoying! There was only one way out and he was blocking it. If I could have I would've squeezed through, instead I had to wait 10 minutes to leave!
