Books, Reading, and Favorties

Lovely quotes on reading
i've discovered that i love reading in my "older" age. i have to say that it wasn't until a few years ago that i actually had the urge to pick up a book and read it.

i was the child who was forced to read.
i was the child who would stare at the book for an hour instead of reading it to pass the time away.
i was the child who bluffed my way through the book reports.
i was the child who said "let me watch the movie instead".

So, ironically, today's topic for "Tickle me Pink" Tuesday is books! i can't seem to get enough of them! i am now one of those people who have 5 books on their nightstand and i have trouble deciding which one i want to read before bed time. It all started with "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult. As soon as i picked up that book i couldn't put it down. My world as i knew it was changed. i found that her writing style was what i needed to introduce me to the world of reading. Since then i've read a good handful of her books and am on a mission to read all her writings in the order she wrote them. i'm on book 2 - but only because i decided on this after i had already read a good 5 of her books. i'll definitely be reading them twice (i know....a little OCD).

Once i realized that reading was fun i began to branch out a bit. i've read quite a few Christian-based books, marriage&relationship books, and the occasional diet novel (gotta love "Skinny Bitch"). i have to say that that there's something about going to a bookstore, sipping a hot drink, and finding a good book. i love the smell, the atmosphere, everything about it!

i found these pictures on Pinterest and had to post them up. And if you haven't ever read and Jody Picoult books i highly recommend you do! They are the best!
My picAday documents today's (and yesterday's) events. i guess my body can't fight off every infection. Hopefully i kick this little annoyance in the butt and i'll be good as new in a few days.

Until next time...ta ta for now!
