Sugar, Sugar

What's better to write about in the month of no sugar....sugar!

I know, I know...this seems a little crazy! And I'll probably be drooling by the time I'm finished posting this, but I have to say that sugar has been on my mind! Maybe it's the lack of, or maybe it's the fact that I feel like there's sugar all around me and I can't seem to get away. I think the temptation is much worse in the month of May....or maybe just this particular May.

Cookies

First there was the pre-health fair at work. We had a huge basket of candy for everyone and I did not get to enjoy. one. piece! That weekend was the wedding shower that big sissy threw for her bestie. I didn't get any of the yummy looking cookies...or cake! Then my momma's birthday came around...I didn't even get to celebrate by having some of her delicious looking brownie ice cream sundae. It was very depressing.

Cupcakes

I then found myself at a baby shower later that week. Of course there were cake pops, caramel popcorn, cookies, etc. I couldn't have any of it. Again - depressed. And then the big day arrived....my bestie's party and little sissy made delicious cupcakes! I couldn't take it anymore! The hubby and I agreed that I could cheat once since I hadn't cheated all month. The day came and I was able to indulged in one delicious cupcake! Happiness!

Pinatas @ the Party

That, however, did not stop the temptations. Today was another party that we throw for students from the school year and once again temptation all around! First there was stuffing the pinatas with candy (my job) then there was the actual party desserts....brownies, caramel bars, and mini cheesecakes. Now, as I write, I'm being asked to store the left-over pinata in my office. So, right next to me, lies a 15lb pinata full of candy! Why is this happening to me?!?

Superiors Ice Cream

Not to mention, tonight is "JDA Dessert Night"....seriously?!? Of course I'm going to that as well. Baby cousin's graduation is this weekend (and I'm sure will be filled with sweets) and is right next to Superiors Dairy - the best ice cream shoppe ever! I think I need another cheat day! I can't pass up delicious chocolate chip ice cream with hot fudge! Hubby and I need to have another chit chat about compromising!!
