Braids & a Great Day

Today is Tuesday...Tickle me Pink Tuesday to be exact!

I have to say that today was a great one! I felt good, the day was productive, and I had fun at work! The day isn't over yet but I'm thinking that it will continue on this way! The weather is beautiful and I'm looking forward to my evening run and dinner with my hubby! (I promised him a pizza & salad dinner)

Today has just been great but I wanted to focus in on one thing that I've been really excited about...braids! Ya, I know this sounds a little silly, but I'm so excited about this! I have never been one to be able to french braid, or make a braid look cute, at all! It was something that I wanted to learn how to do but never seemed important enough to actually teach myself. Till one day...

I think I was watching TV and I just had this "all of a sudden" mental picture of how I thought I would be able to french braid my own hair. I attempted it and voila! I did it! Ever since then I've been obsessed with braiding my hair in every which way! Okay...so I'm still not an expert but I'm able to do several things now! And let me tell you...it is so nice to be able to do this with my thick and heavy hair in this heat!

Braids & Outfits

So today I decided to do a side braid in my hair and then pull it up in a messy bun. Here are a few pictures of the masterpiece! Oh...and I'm showing off my new outfit too! I got the skirt from Gap (my shopping trip with sissy-in-law) and the shirt is from New York & Company. I actually bought them at completely separate times (even separate seasons) and threw them together this morning. I was glad because I wasn't sure what shirt I was going to wear with the skirt. I think the outfit pulled together quite nicely!





So the day flew by and, as I said early, it was a good one! My co-worker and I ran errands for an upcoming party we are putting on for students. We found ourselves eating lunch at Applebee's (yay for 2 for $20) and then at the $0.99 Store. So my picAday is to document this fun work day!!
