YAY! It's back up! I don't know what was going on but the site had been down since yesterday and I didn't get to post anything for my *Thankful Thursday*....
In honor of the events happening in my life this weekend, I want to dedicate this tribute to my little sister and her hubby! We are celebrating their marriage this weekend with a reception for friends and family that weren't able to attend the wedding. The weekend will be filled with so much love and happiness - all the reasons why I love wedding planning and being involved with these special moments in people's lives!
Their story is a darling one and I love hearing it & telling it! For those of you out there that don't know me much, one of the things you'll catch on to really quickly is that I love storytelling! I love the little details and am always making sure they aren't missed....but anyways, back to the story!
Little sister had been in a few relationships throughout high school and college and was taking some time to "grow" and focus on herself. A friend of hers invited her to a birthday party one weekend. She wasn't really feeling up to hanging out with a lot of people she didn't know, but at the last minute decided to go...
My, now, brother-in-law was in the same situation. Getting ready for medical school, he wasn't too excited about going to a friend’s birthday party when he felt he should've been studying. He decided to give in to his mom's attempts to get him to "socialize" and he decided to go to his friend's birthday party.
At the party, the sparks began to fly! There was definite chemistry and small talk. Little sister recognized her, now, hubby because he was friends with MY hubby from school! Conversation was good and little sister was feeling pretty happy when she left the party.
That night, numbers were given out from mutual friends (now brother-in-law asked for little sister's number from another friend). Little sister received a call not too many days later and was asked out on a date! I instantly got a phone call and we played 20 questions until I guessed who the "mystery guy" was. When I finally put 2-and-2 together and realized who she had a date with, I was so excited! He wasn't the guy that she usually dated...but in a very good way!
The night of the date was approaching and little sister was nervous! After many calls to me and my hubby, she was ready for the big night! Long story short....they fell in love!
It was a long time coming for those two...finding true love and to top it all off it was love at first sight!
I love their story! It is one that will never get old and will always remind me that it doesn't matter if you've known your soul-mate since Kindergarten or you met at a birthday party and were married a year later...it is love and it is the greatest gift from God!
