Marriage Monday: Keeping it Sacred

Marriage

Today is "Marriage Monday" and i've now completed one week of my marriage challenge! i've decided to stretch the "30 Day Marriage Challenge" i found on Pinterest to 30 weeks - so one challenge per week.

Last week's challenge was to ask hubby, "what can i help you with?" The very first night i was able to ask hubby about what i could help him with. i knew he was hungry (surprise, surprise) but i asked if i could help him make something to eat. I found it easier to ask as the week went along. i think it was successful!

This week's challenge might be a bit more difficult. The challenge is, "Go a whole day without correcting your husband". Well, since i'm changing this is a week long challenge, i guess i have to go a whole week without correcting him! this shouldn't be difficult, but unfortunately i have a hard time with this. But i know how better we will be when i uplift him and hold my tongue!

Marriage is all about feeling safe. i never want hubby to feel threatened or uneasy with me. Everything is sacred and we need to focus on building and maintaining that sacredness between us. We are the ones holding each other up the most, supporting each other, and being the constant in each other's lives. i would never want to destroy that.

“In the enriching of marriage, the big things are the little things. There must be constant appreciation for each other and thoughtful demonstration of gratitude. It is the encouraging and the helping of each other to grow. Marriage is a joint quest for the good, the beautiful, and the divine.” –James E. Faust
Until next time...ta ta for now!
