A Not-So Green Thumb

Speaking of "a little patience" I failed at dinner the other night!!! Nothing will be marked off my "life list" because I didn't actually "cook something from my own garden.

It started off with good intentions...my hubby and I were making dinner - spaghetti with meat sauce (his specialty) and I was in charge of the zucchini (which was the food from the garden). Perfect meal, right?

Not so much! I ended up picking the biggest "zucchini" from the garden and took pictures and everything! I washed it and began to slice it into pieces when the smell sifted to me!!! AND....(wait or it...) it didn't smell like zucchini! It smelt like CUCUMBER!!! So, not bad for successfully growing a vegetable...but I thought it was zucchini. So not only could I not make my famous dish, but I also had not picked the BIGGEST cucumber from the garden and it wasn't ripe....that was so sad!

Everything went downhill from then on...

Note to self (and to you out there): MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT VEGETABLES ARE WHICH IN THE GARDEN!

That would make since, wouldn't it? I think so!

So now I know that I have CUCUMBERS growing in my garden (not zucchini) and I know that the are not ripe just yet!

OH MY....

And, in honor of thankful Thursday: I'm thankful for people with green thumbs, trucks that carry produce, and a grocery store right down the street to save me from a vegetable-less meal!!!
