Some Things Never Change - and I like it that way!

Today my fancies consist more of fun times and making memories!

Last night brought back many memories of my childhood...my little sister called me to ask if I would come help her hang up some shelves at their place and do a little decorating. Of course I jumped at the chance and after dinner I was ready to help! The task was a little more than I'd expected...we needed to do leveling, hammering, screwing and hanging. Of course, we didn't have the right tools and decided to just go with it. This is the part where I was reminded of my childhood. My little sister and I were never ones to follow directions or wait for the "right" tools. Having a dad who did construction for many years, we'd seen him work on things enough times to know how to get the end result and what it should look like and we'd go for it!!! It took lots of eyeing and guessing, but eventually things would be done and the end product was good enough!

So, last night we had a taste of our younger impatience....we didn't want to wait for my hubby to bring over the level or electric drill so we went for it! I can say that there was a lot of "that's good enough" or "Yes! I promise it's level" (even though we were both just eyeing it). There were times when the screws were a bit too far apart and we'd use the hammer to "adjust" them to the left a bit. And, if you look behind some of the shelving you'll find some holes that were "oopsy" ones. After much frustration and moans and groans, 1 wall was complete with decor! Now to the bedroom....this time we waited for my hubby to bring the tools over. This helped with some things but we still continued "guestimating". The final product was good enough and we were happy with the outcome.

Some habits will never change...we're still stubborn, impatient, and get really frustrated at each other but can only laugh it off once we realize how ridiculous we're being! In the end, it really did look good! I have to say we are some very talented ladies!!! I guess it runs in the blood! *hehe*

NEXT: Taking down the ceiling fan....okay maybe we still need dad for that!

Who knows what we did that day...we look pretty mischievous though
